About our project

The Town Clock Community Development Corporation seeks to create a housing, worship, arts and community complex in downtown New Brunswick by re-furbishing the buildings of the historic First Reformed Church, New Brunswick. This new facility will feature permanent supportive housing for women and families escaping domestic violence.

The historic buildings of First Reformed Church (FRC), infused with early nineteenth century charm, are located at the heart of the downtown New Brunswick Arts and Business District. As the founding congregation of Rutgers University, FRC has been at the center of New Brunswick civic and cultural life for over 250 years. The inclusion of the re-development of this historic space as part of New Brunswick's renaissance will stimulate a cultural revival well into the future.

Dina's Dwellings: almost a reality

Funding is falling into place for Dina's Dwellings. With YOUR help, we plan to break ground later in 2014.

This website offers information about the history of the First Reformed Church, the future plans for the sanctuary reconfiguration and inclusion of 10 units of permanent, supportive, affordable housing for domestic violence victims. Learn about our organization, the history, and the project on our website.

Why Purple?

Purple is the color for Domestic Violence Awareness. Though October is officially Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Town Clock CDC wishes to raise awareness year round through our commitment to making Dina's Dwellings a reality.
