COVID-19 Response

Stay safe, healthy, and brave_Website (1

Dear Supporters and Friends,

Thank you for supporting our work at Town Clock Community Development Corporation and helping us to provide permanent, supportive, affordable housing for survivors of domestic violence. On the heels of our wonderfully successful Being Brave event this past fall, we had been preparing for another year of amazing programming, all centered around the theme of Listening to Survivors

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we have had to cancel our two spring fundraising events: #HearMeToo, an art auction and wine tasting event, and the fundraiser/game night with Mr. Subs Sandwich Shop. While we are saddened and disappointed by this, we must all protect ourselves and our loved ones through social distancing.

However, our staff and other professional partners at Town Clock continue to provide essential services for our residents. While maintaining social distancing through virtual sessions, our team will continue offering the following services and programs:

  • Case management

  • Clinical counseling

  • Creative expression (Artist and cartoonist Lauren Weinstein will continue working remotely on her special project with Town Clock residents)

During these uncertain times, it is critically important for our residents to continue receiving these services, but this requires funding. Your gracious support is even more important and more impactful than ever. If you have the means, please help our residents in one or more of the following ways:

1. Shop AmazonSmile

When you shop, Amazon donates 0.5% of the purchase price to Town Clock Community Development Corporation, Inc. Simply bookmark this link and support us every time you shop!

2. Purchase an e-gift card

Your e-gift card will go directly to one of our residents so she can get essentials such as groceries, baby supplies, gas, and more. Gift cards also give our survivors a choice in how to spend their money, an important part of healing from past abuse. Purchase your e-gift card online and send it to townclockcdc@gmail.com; cards to grocery stores, restaurants (for take-out), and Visa gift cards are recommended.

3. Become a sustaining supporter

By offering a sustaining donation to Town Clock, at any level, you will help ensure that we can continue to provide critical case-management services, expand our programming, and meet our residents' day-to-day needs during COVID-19 and beyond. Click here for more info.

4. Make a one-time donation

Any gift you can give at this time will help and be greatly appreciated. Please click here for links to PayPal and other giving options.

We are mindful that while social distancing, isolation, and quarantine is challenging for all of us, it can be extremely dangerous, even deadly, for those in abusive relationships who are trapped with their abuser. Consider a recent Los Angeles Times column on domestic violence which asks: What happens when the demands of social distancing mean the most vulnerable in our society might be distanced right out of existence?”

If you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship and needs help, please view our list of local, state, and national resources.

Thank you for supporting our residents and our work to help them. Please do what you can to stay safe, healthy, and #BeBrave.

With love,
